Around this time 1430 years ago, Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) immigrated to Medina after enduring 13 years of suffering and persecution. He stood still in the face of both seduction and allurement and took the brunt of his tribe Quraysh’s constant abuse; to raise the word of having one true God worthy of worship at all costs. The Prophet’s arrival at Medina was on the twelfth of the lunar month of Rabi al Awwal in the year which was to become the first in the Islamic calendar. This date has been calculated to correspond to 24 September 622 AD.
